Move over Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) the real Riff Raff is about to appear.

It's been an interesting year pushing out Advanced Reader Copies of my latest book Riff Raff. Feed back has come in at various times from various people, reviews have been scarce but the few that did come in were awesome, and author blurbs were filled by two fine writers from Mystery Writer's of America (MWA). The audio version of the Riff Raff went forward months ago and is now complete and will be added to the other books in the Jack Vu series next month. My publisher utilized the same talent from the three previous audio books but incorporated a new voice for the Narrator, who captured the mysterious feel of Costa Rica in a way no other could.
Yet, I'd like to speak to the author blurbs. This year's MWA convention focused on the topic "We're All In This Together," which is really been in my belief system since graduating college with a degree in Philosophy back in the 80's. But it's good news that the organization seeks to foster this. If we authors can find a way to break the success bariers and get back to the basics of helping our fellow brother and sister in arms to reach their best potential whether it be in the context of the book, or facilitating in marketing efforts, or offering them a drink when the mood needs a boost, our profession will benefit from it.
With that in mind, I'd like to publicly thank two of the MWA members for their recent book blurbs. I sort of just dumped my ARC on their laps at last year's Bouchercon Convention and it was a great surprise and joy when they came through for me in the end. I'd like a special thanks to go out to Hilary Davidson(New York Chapter) and Bill Cameron (Northwest Chapter). Two award winner writers who took the time to provide me with a liftoff on my latest novel. It's this sort of spirit that keeps writers willing to sail day after day over the stormy seas of a blank page...
In return of good spirit, this week I recently reviewed Harley L. Sach's new novel, White Slave, about one man's pursuit for redemption. It's a adventurous novel that focuses on exploitation of humans without being preachy. It features a former truckstop pimp that sets sail in his luxious yacht with a crew of nubile young women only to be lost at sea and rescued by a pirate like korean fishing vessel where he is force into hard labor before he escapes and finds his way back to the Pacific Northwest with a changed heart. A fun read and I recommend it. According to Mr. Sachs, it should be out sometime in July 2012 in kindle ebook.
