I was born in SC, grew up around the southeast and have lived in Michigan since 1978. My wife is a psychologist. We have four adult children and a grandson. I am a history professor and have been writing for almost forty years. With my interest in history it's no surprise that even my mystery novels have a strong historical element in them, especially the series featuring Pliny the Younger and set in Rome in the late first century AD.
