Mark Troy is a former Peace Corps Volunteer (Thailand 1972-1975). Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, he studied psychology at Quincy University, Washington University and the University of Hawaii where he earned a Ph.D. He has lived in Thailand, Hawaii, where his mystery series is set, and Texas, where he is an administrator at Texas A&M University. Mark and his wife can often be found cheering for Aggie women and men basketball and volleyball teams.

Mark is the author of seven short stories and one novel featuring Honolulu private eye, Val Lyon. Val is a former professional basketball player and her stories revolve around sports.

Mark has completed fifteen marathons and is always in training for the next one.
