Still haunted by the loss of the woman he loves, Travis Redman, aka Memphis Red, has been asked to facilitate the return of WWII expatriate musician, Clinton Shorter, to the United States.  Memphis Red finds himself trapped between opposing interests because, unknown to him, Shorter possesses a dangerous secret and powerful forces will seemingly stop at nothing to prevent his return.

Ellis Carver's best friend and fellow police officer has been killed, and it appears that other police officers have conspired to murder him.  Carver discovers, however, that his friend has a secret life that has strayed into perilous and convoluted circles that include love, treacherous men and their dangerous secret.

In 1973 the Viet Nam war is rapidly coming to an end.  Master Sergeant Waymon Hayes is investigating the terrorist bombing of a Saigon restaurant that results in the deaths of American servicemen.  He kills two suspected terrorists only to find that things are not as they seem.  The desperate scramble to escape Saigon blurs the line between friends and enemies.  Hayes learns that there is more at stake at the end of the war than the political conflict between warring nations.
