Welcome Note

Welcome fellow authors and readers. Soon my very old website will be completely revamped to reflect a sharper focus on the reason we include STORY in our lives.
The website, still to be found at www.AngelaZeman.com, will also include a page called RISK AZ ART magazine. In that magazine, Murphy's Blog will be posted, created by various writers, artists, and readers.
Our inaugural blog will be by Dennis Webster, author/editor/graphic novel creator. The subject will be graphic novels. We invite you to take a look.
Belimage Graphics deserve all credit for carrying out the new design.

Author Bio

Angela Zeman, one of the founders of MWA's New York Chapter, primarily writes short fiction. She is also the author of THE WITCH AND THE BORSCHT PEARL, a novel developed from the Mrs. Risk (the witch) story series first published in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine. Her work receives high praise from PUBLISHERS WEEKLY and other venues.
Her short fiction often appears in anthologies in addition to various publications. On March 1, 2012, her story, debuting a new series (Murphy's Law) will appear in Robert J. Randisi's anthology: CRIME SQUARE. In April, her second in her Trueden Falls series will appear in Dennis Webster's annual Adirondack Mysteries, with a third to appear in 2013. She will also debut a series, The Tales of Roxanne, in the Douglas Preston edited ICWA anthology in 2012. Last year her work was included in Nelson DeMille's THE RICH AND THE DEAD; Stuart Kaminsky's ON A RAVEN'S WING and also his SHOW BUSINESS IS MURDER; and Linda Fairstein's anthology: THE PROSECUTION RESTS.
PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY gave both her story ("Hello?") and recipe in Nancy Pickard's MOM, APPLE PIE, AND MURDER a starred review. (And also the entire anthology!)
Her story, "Green Heat," first published in Jeffery Deaver's A HOT AND SULTRY NIGHT FOR CRIME, was selected by Otto Penzler and Nelson DeMille to be included in their collection: BEST AMERICAN MYSTERY STORIES OF THE YEAR (Houghton Mifflin, 'O4).
She also contributes to non-fiction publications, sometimes co-writing with her husband, Barry T. Zeman (former MWA Exec VP). Their articles comprised two chapters of the award winning FINE ART OF MURDER. Others can be found in publications like The Armchair Detective, Firsts, and many others.
She is a long standing member of MWA, PWA, ICWA/NA, and the New York Friars Club.
