Author Bio

Steve Govoni is an award-winning writer who began delving into true crime in 1972 for his father Al Govoni, editor-in-chief of five fact-detective magazines.  Since then, he has written numerous articles about high-profile murder and arson cases, stolen securities scams, bankruptcy fraud, real estate fraud, boiler rooms, money laundering, phony offshore banks, and computer crime.
As a newspaper reporter, Steve received a number of prizes, including the prestigious Deadline Award from the New York City chapter of Sigma Delta Chi for exposing the fraudulent collapse of trucking companies in New York in New Jersey.  In 1991, he wrote a piece for New Jersey Monthly about the gangland-style murder of a Supermarkets General executive and long-time source of his during his reporting days at The Bergen Record.  That same year, one of his stories about a mass murder in upstate New York was included in the anthology "Serial Murderers," which was edited by former True Detective Editor Art Crockett and published by Pinnacle Books.
All of which led to an 11-year career as a supervisory analyst for global investment banks that had their own troubles with the law.  Since January 2006, Steve has been a Senior Financial Writer-Market Analyst with one of the oldest privately held money management firms in the United States, where he produces a wide variety of thought leadership pieces.
